What is Easy Joint?

EASYJoint, the leading paving jointing compound in the UK, is highly regarded by both professionals and DIY installers worldwide. Originally developed in 2009, this product has continuously evolved to meet the demands of users and stay up-to-date with industry trends. The EASYJoint family now offers a range of 9 different products.

This all-weather sweep-in joint compound provides a quick, efficient, and visually appealing solution for filling joints between paving. Its unique feature of being best installed in wet conditions makes it even more convenient for landscaping projects, regardless of the weather.

Designed to be compatible with all types of paving materials, this user-friendly product is exceptionally durable and can withstand the elements, ensuring its longevity. Compared to traditional jointing methods, EASYJoint proves to be significantly more effective.

Hose with spray attachment

Pointing tool

Application Method

step 1

Ensure that the paving is thoroughly wetted for at least 10 minutes in order to reduce the appearance of sheen on the surface. It is important not to rush this step or be concerned if water accumulates in the joints, as it will be displaced when the EASYJoint is applied. The more saturated the surface, the more favorable the final outcome, especially when working with absorbent natural stones.

step 2

Pour the contents of a bag onto the pavement by opening it. If you are using the product for the first time, begin with small amounts of EASYJoint that can be easily worked within a few minutes. It is important to avoid piling up or leaving EASYJoint in one spot, as well as preventing the paving from drying out with the compound on its surface.

step 3

Apply the EASYJoint evenly over the surface using a squeegee or broom, ensuring that it fills the joints. Remember to pay attention to the areas where you are not currently working and make sure they stay sufficiently moist throughout the process. This is especially crucial when working in warm or hot weather conditions.

step 4

After opening and spreading one or two tubs, employ a hose set on either the "fan" or "spray" mode to flush the compound into the joints, ensuring its complete settlement at the bottom. The quantity of water used should not be a concern. Feel free to repeat this process after each tub. Keep in mind that a higher level of moisture is preferable.

step 5

After unsealing and distributing one or two containers, utilize a hose adjusted to either the "fan" or "spray" setting to expel the mixture into the crevices, guaranteeing its thorough consolidation at the base. The amount of water employed should not be a worry. You are welcome to repeat this procedure following each container. Remember that a greater degree of moisture is desirable.

step 6

After ensuring that all the joints are evenly filled up to a distance of 1 or 2 millimeters from the paving surface, proceed to cover the entire worked area with a light spray of water. This will effectively remove any remaining compound residue from the surface and contribute to achieving a reasonably smooth finish for the joints, albeit with a slightly coarse texture. It is important to refrain from sweeping away any fine traces of sand at this stage. Instead, wait until the joints have fully hardened, as outlined in Step 7.

step 7 (OPTIONAL)

It is recommended to enhance the texture of the joint by using a jointing iron or a similar tool. This step should be performed after the water has drained and the paving surface has begun to dry, ensuring that the joint is not excessively soft and wet. By doing so, the joint will maintain its desired shape as it hardens. Once the joint has fully hardened, a thorough sweeping across the paving surface, diagonally to the joints, with a stiff broom will eliminate any remaining residue of EASYJoint.
